README for desktop-cronish ========================== `desktop-cronish` is a small utility that runs jobs periodically. It differs from cron in that you're expected to run it from within a desktop login session, by opening a terminal and running it from the command line. This allows it to have access to things like SSH agents, which cronjobs do not have. As an example, I use it to run offlineimap, with offlinemap configured to get the IMAP password from the GNOME Keyring.
