+Looks like I should:
+ 1) Make the app object available to the VFS wrapper.
+ 2) Reach .repo from there.
+ 3) Make repo objects have an unlocking method that takes the VFS as
+an argument so that the wrapper can pass the delegate VFS instead of
+causing a re-entrant call to the wrapper itself.
