**vmdb2** builds disk images with Debian installed. The images can be
used for virtual machines. It can also install Debian onto real
hardware.
There are many such tools for Debian. vmdb2 is the second generation,
written to replace the first generation vmdebootstrap.
The Debian package is maintained in Debian by Gunnar Wolf. See
