+My friend who runs the mailing list (courtesy of pepperfish.net) says
+there is a bug in the list archiver they use, and he hasn't been able
+to find the actual reason. The scrambled messages in the archive are
+not encrypted, merely base64 encoded.
+
+He also tells me he expects this to be fixed in a future version of
+Mailman, and that he'll be upgrading to that when it gets released.
+Until then, the gmane.org archives are probably a better bet. I'll add
+a link to them to obnam.org.
